Who We Are

Preservation Company was established in 1983 by Principal Lynne Monroe. She called the firm “Preservation Company” to reflect her desire for like-minded “company” to work with her on preservation projects.

Eventually Lynne realized her dream, and today at Preservation Company, a talented group of architectural historians and related professionals “keep company” to together find solutions to preservation issues.  Since its founding, Preservation Company has emerged as New Hampshire’s leading preservation consulting firm with a reputation for excellence and consistently thorough and detailed work.

Preservation Company is comprised of a team of architectural historians, each with over twenty years in the field of preservation.  Each team member brings a particular expertise to the field of historic preservation and documentation.  Their breadth of experience allows Preservation Company to provide a range of services for small and large projects alike.

Preservation Company also has a long history of working with professionals in other disciplines.  We have collaborated with leaders in the fields of historic archaeology, building and material conservation, and structural and historical engineering.  We also worked closely with local historians where their special expertise is needed.

Company projects have received awards from the NH Planners Association, PLAN NH, and the NH Preservation Alliance.  In 2009, Ms. Monroe received a lifetime achievement award from the New Hampshire Preservation Alliance for her contributions to preservation in New Hampshire.
